Downloading and Deleting a Range
Choose a stretch of time on the timeline to download its recordings as video files, or to delete them.
Before you begin, open Timeline on the History tab and move to a point near the time you want.
Downloading a range
- Click the download icon (Download range) on the right of the playback row. The Download range panel opens below the time bar, and two orange handles appear on the bar. By default, the selection covers the recording under the red line (or the next recording) plus 10 seconds on either side; with no recording, it covers one minute on either side of the red line. If playback was running, it pauses, and it resumes when you close the panel.
- Drag across the time bar to select a new range, drag the handles, or type times down to the second under Start and End. The selected duration is shown next to them. When you type a time, the red line moves to it. On a phone, you can also tap Start here and End here. Up to 1 hour can be selected at a time.
- Under Cameras, check the cameras to download. By default, the enlarged camera, the camera shown on a phone, or the cameras on the current page are selected.
- Click Download. The cameras are downloaded as MP4 files, one camera after another. While downloading, Downloading i/n · n% is shown; Cancel stops the download.
The download is complete when the video files have been saved. Gaps without recordings are left out of the files, and recordings still in progress are not included.
- Each camera is saved as one MP4 file. In Safari and in web browsers on iOS, a long range may be split into several files per camera.
- In the Android app, the files are saved to the Downloads folder and Saved n files to Downloads. is shown. In the iOS app, the share sheet opens so you can choose where to save them.
Deleting a range
- Click the trash icon (Delete range) on the right of the playback row. The Delete range panel opens. Choose the range and cameras the same way as for a download.
- Set the range and, under Cameras, check the cameras to delete from.
- Click Delete. The Delete n scenes? dialog opens.
- Click Delete in the dialog.
The deletion is complete when the recordings in that range disappear from the time bar.
Caution
Any recording that overlaps the range, even partly, is deleted entirely; it is not trimmed to the
range. Deleted recordings cannot be restored, and recordings still in progress are not deleted.
Download messages
- If any camera could not be downloaded, a result appears at the bottom of the screen when the download finishes: Files downloaded: n together with the cameras that failed. No recording: camera name means there was no recording in the range, and Failed: camera name means the download failed. If Too large to download (choose a shorter range): camera name appears, shorten the range and download again.
